osX f-keys...
« on: 5 April 2002, 12:41 »
I would have posted this in the mac section but for some reason every time i clicked the new topic button it asked me to log in even though i was logged in, but anyways, i was wondering if anyone knew if its possible to program your f-keys in osX to open certian programs or documents, like you could in os9. The only options it gives you in System preferences|keyboard is to change what keys do what ever function they already have set up but they dont have the option of changing what function it is, just  switching them around. That sounded a little confusing but i think you get the idea. Thanks in advance to anyone with any help or suggestions...

Hey tux. This is Omited in OS X along with alot of the great stuff from OS 9. Anyway... Hyperjeff is an excelent site that keeps track of ucefull OS X software:

http://osx.hyperjeff.net/

On it I found a program that does exactly what you want it to. Altho I only can seem to find the french version   :(   well anyway, here is the link to the d-load site (which I sufferd a bit to find)

http://www.district-parthenay.fr/parthenay/creparth/avosmac/F12modules.html

Hope this is what you want, let me know if it works!

EDIT:

Just playd with it, looks wierd, it's in french and cant figure it out!  Well, OS 10.2 supposedly brings back alot of the fetures lost in the transition.
