Need opinions

OK, I made three new backgrounds. They are based on the same concept, just different colors and textures. I would like to hear some opinions and or meaningful criticisms.

They are 1280x1024 JPEGs@~500KB each. Here's the links:

The grey & white one is a TIFF@~2MB. It's also the best IMHO (that's why I left it in a lossless format) because it is more conisitent than the others.

i like the red & black style. looks cool. i can see it developing into a pretty cool image.

i have an idea. we should "battle" with the image. meaning, we pass it back and forth for about a week, we each get 2 days to work on it. i did that with a friend, and it turned out really cool.

They look like Apple could have done them. I might use the red one myself. Maybe you should try gaussian blurring them a bunch, that might also look cool.

I think the first two where good, i might dl the other one at 1:00AM to 7:00AM when downloads are free.

Xyle: Feel free to play around with it. I don't have Photoshop...But I do have Fireworks and the GIMP

Macman: Thanks! I don't like blurring too much. If you like it, you can blur it in Photoshop, Fireworks or the GIMP. If you don't have any of those, you can specify the blur radius and I will post a link.

The most interesting part of the image is that it's only made up of 133 objects...half of which aren't even visible. Talk about eye tricks...

I made a version that looks like the black and green version but grey replaces the green. If anyone wants it, let me know. I'll post it.

The internet doesn't display blurred images so well, so keep in mind that these actually look better.   Here's the blurred pattern and here's the pattern on my desktop. Wasn't quite as cool-looking as I thought it would be but it's interesting how your eye can't really make out any shapes at all.

Yes, I'd be interested in seeing that other one, Muffin Man.
