Lawyers and politicians have finally caught up with the file-sharing frenzy. There is new legislation proposed called the Consumer Broadband and Digital Television Promotion Act, or CBDTPA. Should it pass, technology that prohibits you copying from the media in any way, shape or form could become mandatory. All over the Web, there are places where you can find out more information, read the proposed bill, and sign petitions that call for users' rights "to use legally acquired content on the platform of their choice."
