message boards in general.
« on: 24 August 2002, 08:18 »
i've been a member of many message boards, and why is it that they attract flame wars so much? really.. nobody cares if you prefer windows over linux, or opera over mozilla. yet people still sit there and post random insults about products they hate, and then they actually try to prove that the product they like is better(HA!).

i just think people should shut up if they don't like a certain thing, and stay out of the areas they simply don't belong in. sure.. this message board would be pretty much empty then, but atleast it would filter out all the crap.

i'm just wondering why is it that flame wars happen in message boards more than anything. on irc, people can actually get along at times, on a message board it is very rare.

Hmmm good question. Well what I like(hate) about messageboards is admins or dickwad members, who need to be gang raped by 5 bill gates clones.

One such community? WASTELAND HALF-LIFE(now "the wastes")!

MSE has fucking awesome admins.

Still, why do flamewars happen? I'll never know...

Look, all that stuff i just said up there was sarcastic, i couldn't resist putting in some immature flames in response to this question. Sorry about that! i couldn't stop myself. As to why there are more flames on forum.fuckmicrosoft.com than on irc, i think the name says it all, don't you?
