Microsoft Faces EU Fines, Media Software Curbs

quote:
BRUSSELS (Reuters) - Microsoft Corp, the world's largest software maker, faces a European Commission fine for charges it abused its dominant market position and may be ordered to reveal key secrets to competitors and change the way it distributes its music and video software.

The Commission, the European Union (news - web sites)'s executive body, said on Wednesday that it felt it had a strong case in its four-year antitrust probe against Microsoft and the amount of the fine would be linked to the severity and duration of the company's perceived offence.

"At this stage, we have so much evidence and we are in possession of such substantive a file that we believe any decision we take will withstand scrutiny of the European court," Commission spokesman Tilman Lueder told a briefing.

They must be fined 500 trillion dollars, the source code of windows must be turned over to the open source community to be laughed at, bill must publicly come forward and apologize for making such crappy products, and an international holiday, No More Microsoft Day, will be celebrated. Plus problems will now be refered to as microsofts, so that people will say, "There's a bit of a microsoft", "What's the microsoft?", and "Fix that microsoft".

About time for another one! Hehe if these lawsuites continue. Eventually  maybe Microsoft  will run out of money. They were down today on the stock market  about 4 points. Not sure if trading yet stopped. Actually probably did for the day.

$400 Gizillion sounds about right. However, handing M$ code over to the open source community????????

Why would you want to give the OS Community a virus?

No I say take it into the desert and bury it, or sink it in the Marianas Trench or something, it should never see the light of day again.

That's why I said, "so it could be laughed at". Oh yeah, Bill has to show up on in person to every city in the world and make a speech about every single evil thing he ever did regarding his OS. Then he must fight his own way out of the crowd, in every city.

Personally I don't want Free Software to be even remotely associated with that crap product in any way...
Yesterday it worked
Today it is not working
Windows is like that
