HEh, no thanx. Mushroomprince and I don't exactly like each other so I'd be damned if I were to post somewhere that he mods/administers

Thats not true,  you think I don't like you just because you use windows 2000 and you prefer P4's over Athlons.  Jimmy James prefers pentium 4's and I use windows 2000 on other machines all the time.  Stryker is right. I think one of the biggest reasons we have 2 administrators to that forum is (1) Better and faster management (2)  People can't get banned just because of the opinions of a single person.

I am a member of both forums sites right now.  To be honest I am quite interested in this calyptos project and anxiously await the outcome...even willing to be a beta tester...

Bottom line, this site is my root foundation to the world of Linux and Open Source...to betray it would be like denying a mother...

I am also a member of the other site.  I have allready started learning from posts there as well.  I hope the two compliment each other instead of emblazen each other.

Two pro-open source, anti M$ sites battling each other does not pass the common sense test.

As for the overwhelming amount of trolls...are you the kind of person that would attack every basher in a chat room?  Enjoy the humor they provide.  If you feel insulted by their posts then you have empowered them over you.  Laugh at what is said, never take it to heart.  They are not here for the same reasons some are.  Annoying...yes, but so's that mosquito you can't find that bites your ass every night after you go to bed.  But, does that mosquito keep you from going to bed?  No!  The mosquito is in your house and you still continue normal routines.  Here though, you change your desires for a person who is no where near you nor has any influence over what you do.  I find that somewhat odd.  Sounds to me like some need thicker skin to be honest.  If trolls really bother you, maybe you should book an appointment on Dr Phill.  Let's see what can be done to keep both sites at max levels.  Oh yeah, and as Ally G says, Keep it real!

Here's how I feel about it. I've been coming to MES since about April of this year. I love this forum. Its a great forum for someone like me who despises Microsoft, is stuck using some of their products, and wants to contribute to the anti-MS movement in hopes of making the future MS-free.

The way I see it, Erudition's idea is not Microsoft Eradication, but more of a general computer forum centered around Linux, Apple, and hardware. Yes, there is a MS section, but I'm just not feeling its power yet. Besides, I like dicussing the news on a forum that we know MS visists almost each week.
Microsuck.com has also been in the internet press sometimes, thus leading more Microsoft haters there. That's why I like MES.

The webmaster recently woke up from his hibernation and dropped by, asking for ideas for how to fix up MES. Maybe he'll do a good job.

I intend to post at Eurudition for some Linux stuff as I start learning Linux, and also for hardware advice when I need it, since it's a place full of smart & intelligent people.

But I will continue using MES because this forum has a lot of potential and I'm not ready to give up on it. By the way, please recommend me to be MES moderator http://forum.microsuck.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=8&t=000119.
I'm here a lot and will do a good job cleaning the place up. I'm also writing a few anti-MS related papers for one of my classes, and will submit them as articles to the webmaster when they're done.

By the way, a lot of people have been saying they don't like this forum's graphics anymore, and like Erudition's better. I have to say that I personally disagree. I love this forum's classic style. I'm not a big fan of the huge php boards with tons of graphics and huge avatars and so on. This one suits me just fine. But who knows, maybe I'll get used to them.

There is no content at the MES. I'm only still here because I enjoy reading posts made by trolls.

i won't be leaving here right now. as far as i can see it's not a requirement for joining the erudition forums.

if (and i do not expect this to be the case at all) the new forums become a nazi hq or a handbag slapping session about how shit FMS forums are then i think we know which forums i'll be leaving first.

however it's possible that erudition will go on my list of favourite forums, which include newtolinux.org.uk, voidmain.kicks-ass.net, linuxquestions.org and this one, and some others not too computer related. oh yes and unix.com too.

I was against that idea... and I think i'll do something about it real soon. I don't think there will be a problem with both forums coexisting, i'll still visit this one as some nice discussions still happen.
