I've used several versions of SCO and I think it is the absolute worst implementation of UNIX that ever existed. Linux blows it away. SCO has been used in businesses for a long time though and there still are a few business apps hanging around for it. If I were a customer I would much rather have those apps on Linux. Now, maybe Caldera will replace the old SCO UNIX with Caldera Linux and get the app vendors to port their code to the new system. It would be leaps and bounds better than the old SCO.

It's hard to say. I never liked SCO and I never much cared for Caldera, and I don't have the greatest hope for United Linux. But if it helps drive app vendors to port to Linux then I guess it's a good thing. Once ported it's not much to move them to any distro.
