Looking for a Car Part...
« on: 19 July 2004, 10:50 »
Here's the story.  My brother just traded his 1992 Camaro straight-up for a 1967 Buick Grand Sport.  The carberetour is brand-new, but it just blew up anyways.  At any rate: my brother needs an intake manifold for a 340 cu-in V8, preferably with a spreadbore carb mounting.  Any suggestions would be great (couldn't find anything on eBay or any similar auctionhouses).

Thanks.

Get a foreign car.  US cars suck.

Ya know he has, but none of them can find an intake manifold for a '67 Grand Sport.  I'm thinking if he just said "340" he might get more hits from some of the numbnuts at our Kragen.

Tux, I thought that too, but he wants a mint, OEM manifold.  I find it hard to believe that he's going to track one of those down without asking for a 340 part.

he's a dufus, then.

remanufactured or pulled are the same as "mint condidion" at this point. they're all nearly 40 years old. tell him to stop being such a pussy, save some money, and go buy a remanufactured part.
Go the fuck ~

Actually, he thinks he might have found a suitable Edelbrock that could be grafted in, in YearOne.  Beyond that, nobody we've tried seems to have anything.

in arizona there is a buick specialist parts yard called speedway.
Speedway Automotive
2300 W Broadway Rd
PHOENIX,  AZ 85041 - 2112
(602) 276-3200

they are kind of pricey but they should have it.
once you get, take it down to any machine shop and they can beed/sand blast it. it will be good as new.
