Whats the best way for you to learn?
« on: 13 August 2002, 11:28 »
Now that am doing homework for C++, i find that the best way to learn iby writing it down in such a way, as if I am teaching someone else.

That way am writing all of the material in HTML format so i can post it on the web.
This does two things for me.
a) Makes me to triple check that what am writing is correct so i wont end up being a jackass
b) A, helps all the info settle in my brain.

BTW am preparing a web site with Linux noob material, since i am a Linux noob my self.

i wish i could teach programming. i want to be the guy to have the next devshed.com, the next phpbuilder.com or the next linuxquestions.org (not programming but it's still a nice site) and the one thing i have learned is that content is not always the key. tomshardware.com is an excellent site because it has VERY smart people who you can have intelligent discussions with but the site is not very good looking and the forum used over there just sucks....i hate that forum so much.

the forum you have will make or break your website. i recommend phpBB in every way, it's a fantastic board.

i have always found that the best way to learn anything is to play with it til you fuck it up, then play with it til you fix it, then teach someone what you did.

teaching someone really drives it home for you.
