I just signed on for some web space here and I was wondering if anyone knew why the owner was running this?  It seems like a pretty sweet deal and there is absolutely no advertising...  How does this guy make a profit?  I've even read the EULA and the only possibly bad bit is that the owner declares that your site is their property.

Looks alright to me:

You don't get an FTP account. You get a crippled SSH account that doesn't have a compiler, chrooted, and you can't even change your password. I also think that you don't get CGI support or any kind of scripting language support.

It definitely wouldn't work for me then. If, on the other hand, you want to put up a static HTML page, then it should be fine.

Oh yes. I got an account with them a while ago--I use it to host a little page that crashes 9x and opens the CD tray in NT+ (I was going to add the IE-crashing bug, but I don't care for that page enough).

http://thequirk123.haxorz.org/ -- I figured it'll get enough attention with that kind of a URL.      :D        ;)

Despite the fucking flaws Quirk fucking pointed out, I really fucking like fucking illfuckinghostit.com. Very fucking easy, and unlike all the other fucking webspace providers fucking out there, fucking illfuckinghostit.com doesn't give a fucking rat's ass what you're fucking up to unless you're fucking doing something fucking illegal. No, not fucking good for a big serious site, but pretty fucking much fucking perfect for fucking image hosting and fucking small-ass fucking sites.

And i dont even think they give a shit about that unless the cops show up at their door.  Of course it cant be as good as some shell accounts I've heard of...

"yes we comply with US law requiring us to keep a log.  it's asymetrically 128 bit DES encryption and we "lost" the decryption key - good luck!"
