So, not only do you Americans pay taxes in double, you also pay for taxes that don't exist. Canada, the land of high taxes, indeed.

Oh _big deal_. So now we pay 1/256th the amount of taxes you guys pay.

I don't see how this deserves a thread.

     :D    ;)

At least we actually get something in return for what we pay, like a health system available to everyone and low university fees. Unlike you, who pay for nothing but arm dealers and pointless wars.

I have relatives in Quebec (the family's owned the same farm there since it came from Ireland). They are constantly complaining about taxes and getting ripped off by companies and the government won't do anything about it.

Yes, it's true that we are ripped off as well. For instance, we have to pay for a provincial surtax (TVQ) over goods and sevices already taxed by the federal government (TPS). Right now we are having two of our worst governments (Jean Charest as Quebec PM and Jean Chr

Alright, you argue over taxes.

The normal tax rate in Sweden is 30 % if you make about 15,000-30,000 kr (1900-3900 US-dollars) a month. If you make twice that a month the normal tax rate is 50 %. Beat that if you can!!!!  ;)

Yeah, but I heard you get all sorts of social benefits paid by the state. I wouldn't mind living in Sweden, actually. Learning Swedish wouldn't be such a long way from German.

He's the Premier of BC. Instead of spend tax dollars on schools/education, he spends it on shit we don't want (e.g fast ferries to Victoria and unnessacery repid transit lines. He also got drunk in Hawaii. Oh! And he hired Jimmy Pattison (the richest guy in Vancouver) to brainwash everone to vote "yes" to the 2010 oylimpics )witch will increse taxes and spend it on shit we don't want!

OT, but speaking of Canada, what'up with your forum, Canadian Lover? I haven't seen any update since my appointment as a mod. And the HTML source you showed in the other forum appears to be a pro-Canadian website. Are you preparing something?

I was in the process of building my own FreeBSD server with Sime's help. He taught me many things, but he must be very busy, as I haven't heard of him in weeks.

Any way I can help with your website? I think a pro-Canadian website is a good idea, especially with USA being under the Bush regime and all.

Promoting tools? Hmm, how about promoting our political system? Perhaps the merits of our social democracy?
