how would i go about trying to start a new petition on the internet? I cant tell you what it is for...yet

electronic petitions are not legally binding. You need actual signatures for it to be worth anything at all. Basically, an electronic petition is not worth the paper it's printed on...

i just want to see how many people will go for this.

it is a petition for changing the length of day from 24 to 32 hours. 24 hours just isnt enough time to get everything done. We need 8 more hours in the day.

I have some decisions to make before i actually make the petition:
1. should the year lengthen in time from 8760 to 11680 hours, or shorten the number of days from 365 to 273.75.
I think we should shorten the number of days in a year (to 273.75)

That is an extra 24 hours. How should we deal with this?
1. every 4 years we have 3 extra days
2. every year we have one 24 hours day
any other ideas?

every four years, have three extra days holiday, and make it less days per year too. However you might get some people pissed off about the sun possibly not cooperating with the arrangement...

if we increased the days to 48 hours then the sun would set at rise at 5:00 set at 17:00 rise at 29:00 set again at 45:00

nah, i usually sleep every 1 1/2 days.  sometimes even longer.

if i buy a game i play til i beat it, no sleep.

this extra 8 hours can be used for anything. From sleeping to anything else if they are not tired.
Mortals were not made for 24 hour days. They merely got used to them. They will adapt. They will learn to live in this manner.

it will have to be 7. 7 fits equally into 273. 39 X 7 day weeks. Plus an extra 3 holidays every 4 years.

why should it be 7? 7 does not go equally into 365 either, and that's what we use already...

I think that not disrupting the week is a good idea though. We are changing enough by making the day 32 hours long.
