I disagree with Madonna. She's just another pop whore.

When you speak of rush and geddy lee...those are a band and a soloist...if you follow me

Geddy can play bass, synth, sing and back himself up with the biggest arrangement of foot pedals you've ever seen, the rest  of rush was only there so he wouldn't get lonely...if you want to talk about musical genius, though in a very modern sense, I would have to say that geddy was like the 80's and 90's version of chopin or Mozart...a very talented and educated man when it came to music...If you're looking for profoundness and  meaning, then you can't refuse to acknowledge greats like the Irish U2 or the Brit Sting...incredible is th only word that comes to mind for me...but then again, I listen to anything, all music (except Boy Bands or Prince that shits annoying).  If you want to look at greats then the modern day standard has to be groups like them.  Example, Boston, when was the last time they put out an album....but when they do...ALWAYS a hit...

Ever hear of a little band called the Beetles? You have to at least have John Lennon on that list.

I've never heard of the Beetles, but I have heard of the Beatles.

but it doesn't matter, because Van Halen with Sammy Hagar or DLR along with STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN would kill them all.

oh, don't forget Chicago, before and after Terry Kath. True, after Kath died they made mostly power ballads... but they were badass ballads. And then, after Pete Cetera split, they managed to reclaim some of their old sound.

Rainbow, Deep Purple, Hendrix (how could you forget James Marshall Hendrix),  Janis Joplin, Pink Floyd, The Cure anyone?

Peter Cetera now that's the sound of the 80's, great I love it. I'll break out my pastels and deck shoes.

I have to say though Cahult, Madonna is a pop whore.

U2 are great but not that great. Beatles for me have only one great thing about them, they started the whole pop craze. Their songs are greater than themselves. A group/artist must be even to their/his/her music to be on my list. Beatles aren

Gosh, you folks have some weird taste in music.  The best thing about Led Zeppelin is that they, like disco, were something for the Sex Pistols to be angry about.

My list, w/out order or explanations:
Sonic Youth
Pixies
Public Enemy
The Clash
Bikini Kill
Ramones
Replacements

Yes, i know the Sex Pistols were a joke, formed factory-style much like the Backstreet Boys.  But they gave a voice to legions of alienated youth, and that kinda means something, I think.

Now, you are making me unsure. Was it "cheated" or "had"? If someone has a tape of this so we can settle this please tell us the real word. The real joke about Sex Pistols is when they decided to make a comeback. The Clash, there you have some real heroes. I haven
