i could see him saying that. but i dont know about it being authentic...
funny though. "bugs? bugs?? its about selling a product, there are no bugs. well, there are, but it doesnt matter, we sell features." i can't believe a company gets away with selling such shoddy software. if any other company did that, they wouldnt have a company anymore. if bmw sold fancy looking cars, but they blew up if you didnt buckle the seat belt properly, who the fuck would buy it?? same for every business i can think off. doesnt make sense.

It's from 1995.
Still they were pigheaded comments to make then, and they still are today.

Back in 1984 we would have called this double think, and bill gates would have been Big Brother. Too much power he has, power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely... pretty deep, I think that is what will happen unless somebody comes in and does something about this goddamn company. Oh, by the way, I'm back, I've been away from the forums for way to long.

That's His Gatesness all right.

quote:
We've never done a piece of software unless we thought it would sell. That's why everything we do in software ... it's really amazing: We do it because we think that's what customers want. That's why we do what we do. (Emphasis in original)
That's exactly what the marketing weenies are saying about this new P2P thingie for teens called "Three Degrees". No need to find out what the customer actually wants; we'll shove whatever POS we feel like right down their throats.

quote:
The new version - it's not there to fix bugs. That's not the reason we come up with a new version.
How about that! His Gatesness finally told the truth for once. Sure 'nuff, he was as good as his word. There are still Win 95 bugs that haven't been fixed yet.   :D

quote:
Maybe you're not using it properly. Have you ever considered that?
Isn't that what they say when Win XP or one of its apps fucks up?   :D

The more things change, the more they stay the same.
