Actually I'd be prepared to believe that, considering the sheer volume of bloat in MS software. For example, if Microsoft writes a piece of software that's 20 times bigger than it needs to be, then even if it has, say, 10 times the number of bugs than the Unix equivalent has, it can still boast "fewer bugs per line".
