I have Dr-Dos, but i am using Windows 95 dos (The dos that comes with 95) because it is easier to make it say:
"Starting Windows .NET!"
instead of
"Starting Windows 95..."
in a hex editor. So i chosen it, i could have used MS-DOS 6.22 which is also on my Computer... But hey IM LAZY!

But Crap, the disk has corrupted so i have to start again!  :(

Well im about to release it, im on the Family computer with Windows 2000  :(  because im reinstalling Red-Hat. Somehow i had two hard disks set as master and it worked. But it detected the new harddisk i put in by name at startup. I booted my Slackware CD, and did a "dd" to zero out the new hard disk. And it wiped the start of my first one to. (Now that shows how clever i am) Oh well i geuss shit happens I installed to much anyway and wanted to start fresh. I find that when you install everything in Red-Hat Linux it geta little to cluttered for me. Im doing a default Workstation install with some extras (Lynx, Apache, PHP, Glade, Glade2).

Anyway it will be out in a few hours. I had a backup of the Hard Disks partion table and not all of it was effected so my Docs, Website Copys, shit like that are okay, just the first 200mb of the disk got really fucked. And linux was on the first partion so it was beyond repair. I stupidly kept it all on a /, usually i seperate it into /usr and /boot at least. Somtimes more!

You can get the Standalone copy now!
www.windotnet.tk

Its a gzip'd floppy image (dotnet.img.gz) which is about 250k and just needs to be put on a floppy.

How did you make the image? It should be 1.44MB uncompressed. It appears to be corrupt. I was able to get the disk to boot it after a bunch of "Abort, Retry, Fail?" messages but it won't run QBASIC and everything appears to be corrupt.

Oh crap, i just uncompressed it, i didnt look at the results of the dd because it was going in an X window and then i heard the floppy had stopped so i had quickly restarted the X server so i could do domthing and went back in later and i gzip'd it.
Ill add a conv=noerror onto the end of it and see if it helps...

The first thing I noticed is that it was smaller than I expected so I too mounted it on a loop device and could list the files. You can do an "ls" but you can't view the contents of any of the files which means the FAT table is in tact, but there is a lot of data missing. :)
