I think i have fixed it... It seems to work now. And the bzip2 is 536k or somthing which is more reasonable for a floppy image. Everything seems to be working (finally) so try it. (I wonder how it runs on VmWare)

I'll tell you in a few minutes. That's what I'm running it on (straight from the image, don't even have to create the disk).

Heh heh, very funny! I particularly enjoyed the credits, you certainly didn't have to mention my name though as I haven't done anything. Only one problem that I noticed is when it blue screens it kicks you back to QBASIC and then you have to CONTINUE. I don't know if it only does that under VMware or if it does it from a clean boot.

Most of it should be pretty easy to port but it will probably have to use SVGALIB, SDL, or OpenGL or some other graphics library if you want the graphics that you are using. If it was just the colorful text a curses based port would work (but even then you don't use the standard 80x25 text mode I don't believe do you?

Yea thats what im thinking, SvgaLib, but i still want it to work on dos. Im going to have a look at the svgalib manpage.

How hard would it be to make it work in the following:
  • SvgaLIB
  • X11
  • MS-DOS (Direct Video Memory Accses?)

I see someone did port SVGALIB to DOS a long time ago but it required DJGPP and it was limited and he no longer supports it.

That said, I'm thinking OpenGL might be the way to go. I am pretty sure there is a DOS implementation of it and it will work in X. Most of the code should be the same as long as you do everything using the GL library. But then I don't have any experience programming GL so I don't know how easy it is to code or if you can do all the text stuff that needs to be done. But I would think you should need few "#ifdef" branches if all of it can be done in GL.

Meh, doesnt support GOSUBs, Looks like SVGAlib then. Proformance isnt a priority. So it will be fine.
