Yet another IE hole discovered

Secunia says it has verified the flaw in "a fully patched Internet Explorer 6 running on Microsoft Windows XP" and that other versions of Internet Explorer could also be affected by this vulnerability.

Internet Explorer doesn't block malicious Web sites from inserting "arbitrary content" in an arbitrary frame in a browser window, the Danish security firm says. Secunia says the malicious content will appear as if it originated from a trusted site, which is an attack commonly known as spoofing.

What has more holes now...Windows or IE?

Both are thrown-together products propped up to appear good and modern.  And now they suffer.

Moving on now....

Yawn. There are so many holes, it shouldn't be called Windows, it should be called 'Mosquito Screen'. Which would be very appropriate, considering all the bugs stuck in their product.

BTW, xeen, not that I'm criticising or anything, but couldn't we make one single thread for all the M$ bugs, holes, worms, viruses and all those disgusting pests? That way, it would be much easier to tally all the defects of their abominations.

Neither me nor xeen have lives, so tallying up all the threads shouldn't be much of a problem.

Laukev, I'm afraid I must disagree with you on one point.  Windows is the perfect name, given that it's closed enough to keep out those pesky developers, yet open enough to let in all the bugs in the world.

if you keep your computer on a boat and sit in the middle of the ocean with it, and don't have some kind of satellite telecomm link, then it's safe from all sorts of BADITUDE

No OS is safe... some just come with better default options. Windows, unfortunately comes with shitty ones. I always wondered why somebody didn't release a Unix-like security suite for NT-based OSes that runs in the POSIX layer. All other Windows security things suck shit because they're made for noobs and have all the stupid ass graphics.

Windows is insecure because it's buggy, not because it lacks the right tools.

At the end of 2003, one of the mods here (can't remember who) posted this complete list of M$ embarrassments. Is there going to be one like it this year, too? Please?

I can't make one myself, there are so many bugs and other interesting news I would get confused quickly.
