Good MS alternative?

mmadia:
first, not all BeOS user's are of MrX's persona.  personalities and attitudes similar to his are in the extreme minority.

I'm surprised to see BeOS being talked about on non-beos centric websites.

i've posted a reply to the BeOS Max 3.0 released thread.

here's some additional BeShare compatible clients:
linux: Unizone
win: Unizone (win)
java-based: JavaShare

i'm usually logged into BeShare and/or irc.freenode.net as mmadia
feel free to nudge me if you've questions or need help.

AFA BeOS Max's website, it's safe to assume it won't be going back online for a long time.  however it can still be accessed via Internet Archive IA: BeOS Max's website

btw, R5 Pro can still be purchased for $25USD at PurPlus
they even have some other commercial software.

one final note:  to anyone considering purchasing yellowTab Zeta.  Their listed price is around $130USD.   Before you spend the money, do some research into what is *not* available as a free download for R5.

IMVHO, the money spent vs. commercial+proprietary software is not the consumer's favor.

also note, Be Inc. sold R5 for $50USD.   keep that in mind while considering yT Zeta.
