Zombie9920:
This is good news. We can expect to kiss the Verisign site finder goodbye soon.

ISC to Cut Off Site Finder

Ever heard of the OpenNIC?  A FREE alternative to the InterNIC.  Exactly what you wanted!

The best way of handling it that I have heard so far is to null-route the IP# of that #$%^ing site.

Should be doable in OSX I'm guessing but don't know enough about it.

You can also ask your ISP to null route it... maybe they will be as angry as the rest of us.

I've set up a bunch of ad servers to be redirected to 127.0.0.1, and turned on the web server so that all ads are really just bad requests from my computer. This works great. I also figured out how to do it on OS 9. If there isn't already, make a file called "Hosts" in your preferences folder. You can add entries like this "adserver. A 127.0.0.1", and you have to put the period right after the domain name. You can also redirect urls with "microsoft.com. CNAME microsuck.com".
