hacker/coder not cracker
« on: 27 July 2002, 20:18 »
This is just a reminder that this is not a forum for cracking but a forum for hacking and coding...

If you want to hack go look at places such as sourceforge and python

If you want help to crack fuck off somewhere else its illegal and it shows your stupidity to post something of that nature on a public forum.

I'm not have a go at anyone in particular, this is good site and i want it to stay good and not having a whole heap l33t sciptkiddiots coming onto this forum and fucking it up.

now that thats out of my system im going to bed i haven't slept for a couple of days and im tired.

oh, pshaw!

cracking msn and so on, can only help spread the word about how insecure it is! if a system can be cracked all the time, less people will use it! i certainly won't be helping any would be crackers, they can do their own research, but once they have, then fair enough! of course by that stage they won't be asking us for help.

No, if a network (such as msn) cannot deal with its own crackers without us (the Microsoft eradication society, after all) discouraging people from even trying to crack into it, then they deserve to fail on all fronts.

Cracking software just to save yourself some money is another thing again though...

I'd rather see the script-kiddie posts get moved to the dead thread zone.

Most of them are 10-year old lamers who can't spell or even attract a girl running scripts and sub7 on their mom's dell.

Sorry i just really hate scriptkiddiots and i was a little tired at the time.

People posting things as stupid as "how do i crack msn?" shits me to no end. I still stand by what i said this is not a cracking forum this site has nothing to do about cracking.

I find the best way to get rid of scriptkiddiots is to just ignore them don't reply at all not even to tell them to fuck off.

Leave this thread here as it has to do with this forum in particular.

I say move scriptkiddiots post to the dead thread zone as well

Ok you want this forum to change? You have to remove the "hacker" part. Im sure many people think(and it's true to a lesser or greater degree) that expert "hackers"(crackers) are also expert computer programmers(coders). After all, you can't be an expert and a non-script-kiddy(suposedly a difference between script kiddies and REAL crackers) if you can't code anything right? So it would only serve to make sense to the average wannabe.

You are correct, however, the original request for a new forum was for a "programming" forum, and the webmaster quickly said that was a good idea and his intentions with this forum were "Ask a programmer".  He used synonyms for the word programmer, however those synonyms also happen to be synonyms for more devious activities which unfortunately attract a lot of rif raf.

That would be fine, but I think "programming languages" or "programming discussion" or "programming" or "ask a programmer" would be best.

Here's a good question. Can we use this as a discussion forum for things relating to computer technology?

For example, I would like a DOS refresh rate utility that works on modern systems, and/or a way to have an awesome compatibilty DOS on modern systems. Is that a suitable question here?

Well if you were wanting to write these utilities and questions about how you might go about it then sure. But the Lounge is wide open for any discussion. As long as it's not "Can you help me hack into hotmail?".  But then I am not a mod so I really don't have any say, just opinions.
