I want to be able to access my computer at work from my computer at home.  How do I do this?

what OS, and what kind of access. Just copying files? or complete control over it? Graphics or none?

For complete control you can try programs such as
VNC. They have clients and servers for multiple platforms.

Tip for win98 (l)users: type copy /con/con in your command prompt to increase stability
