Have a look at gilpinsgarage.cjb.net in Mozilla and then IE... My design skills are Open Orientated, but  it looks kick ass on Mozilla/Phoenix which kicks ass too.

funny, i opened your site in IE, then i was slammed with pop-up windows. haha, but in mozilla, not a one popped up. The buttons, "Welcome", "But How?", etc.. have a border drawn around them in mozilla, in IE they dont. wierd. cool that you wrote it in Mozilla Composer.  I think ill give it a try.

The empty space is for when I start putting stuff there

Site site fits in any browser at full screen (or maximized on a Mac...sightly less room) at 1024x768. Only slight scrolling is needed on 800x600 (Which most gamers don't even use).

something that isn touted enough is that tables should be given a width of something% instead of just a number in pixels. example, <table width="90%" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> will display fine in all sizes of screen, but <table width="986" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> will only display well on screens of 1024 pixels across and upwards. Most if not all wysiwygs (i include openoffice.org, dreamweaver and mozilla composer) do the pixels by default, not the percentages.

Just a thought. I like sites to be as compatible with as many different setups as possible.

when it's done, it's supposed to be a humor sites targeted at the following audience:

Me.
People like me.
People who are like people who are like me.

It's going to be a disaster. Oh well!

Don't use big pictures of lines. Make them 1px wide, then make tables and predefine them to be 100% wide, and the same heigh as the lines. Then makes the image the BG, and it will work better (and no scrollbars). Do the reverse for the lines that go up and down.
