Diablo 2 working fine on XP over here.

Sand paper your CD, soak it in some cat urine, give your computer a swift kick, break your XP CD into many little pieces, reinstall Windows 666 times, call up Bill Gates to activate your copy of Windows, order a pizza while Diablo 2 installs.

i was tring to install winnt under vmware and it fucking crashed, so i gave up. and the compaq win2k disk tells me that my virtual machine is not a compaq machine so it can't install

as much as i hate microsoft some of u guys either have really bad fucking luck or just dont know what your doing. XP hasnt had as nearly as many problems in my experience. all of our machines, except mine (redhat 7.2) are running XP and some do have games installed, one of the machines in back infact is running diablo2 just fine. maybe its hardware problems coupled with software but damn people, Microsoft may be shit but its not the ultimate scapegoat either.

^ DITTO ^ exagerating windows issues does not help ANYONE. i too hate MS with a terrible, uncontrollable passion, but that doesn't mean i lose all objectivity. you all have never had issues with linux?

Any issue I've ever had with Linux I've been able to solve fairly easily.  Worst case scenerio is I had to hack the code myself, but then you don't have that choice in M$ OSs.  And then I don't get upset.  I remember how much I paid for each OS and which one has been better to me.  Nope, Linux has been *perfect* for my needs for the last 10 years.
