why the fuck is IE6 doing this?
(1/1)

Ok this is really wierd, someone else do it and tell me if it happens too:
In Windows XP, Internet Explorer 6 adds fake stuff to your recently visited URLs. I was too lazy to check if it happens in Win2000 and IE 5 too. Here's what happens:
You know when you go to IE, click on the address bar on top, and hit any letter on your keyboard. What usually happens when you do that is it pops out all the recently typed/visited URLs that begin with that letter. For example, if I click on the address bar right now and hit the 'm' key, then http://www.microsuck.com will be one of the items listed in the popup. Now try this:
Clear ALL the possible stuff that is used by IE to track your Internet usage:
1. Options -> Delete Cookies
2. Options -> Delete Temp Internet Files
3. Options -> Clear History
4. Options - Content - AutoComplete -> Clear Forms
5. Options - Content - AutoComplete -> Clear PWs
6. Start Menu Properties -> Clear Document History
After you do these 6 things, all your Internet temp data, history, and cookies should be removed from the system. HOWEVER, for some reason it ADDS some stuff!! If you now go to IE and click on the address bar again, and hit the 'm' key, there will be 11 items from the www.mp3dimension.com domain. WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS??? I've never visited that site! Also, I know it's not a problem caused by any software because this keeps happening on many XP Installations I've done on many computers.
Anyone else got this happening too?
Kupotek:
Well, I just did what you said and do not have the problem, so your ignorance on this matter is confusing something else for windows problem.
The problem is in fact with some peice of software you installed that is putting itself there, not windows. Download Ad Aware and search for spyware on your system.
If youre gonna hate windows, at least have a good reason.
