question with win 2k
Bazoukas:
I have Rogue spear. BTW its a kick ass game. problem is that it wont play with Win2k.
I havent played the game for over a year now, but am 100% sure that Red Storm has a patch that lets it play with Win2k. Go at Red Sorm's web site, or at file planet to find the patch.
BTW Unixsucks, good job of helping him out. You remind me of MS tech support.

I find it funny how hypocritical MSE is. You make a forum to discuss windows, yet you pounce on people who ask for help with it. It is never mentioned "You want help, go elsewhere" in the forum description.
When people post their wind0ze problems, doesn't it help re-inforce how much wind0ze sucks? So Mr Newbie lurks around MSE and says "Hey, seems alot of people have problems with wind0ze, these MSE people may not be full of shit after all. Maybe I'll ask them about Linux".
Think of asking for help with wind0ze problems as people confirming the anti-MS information with examples.
Now mind you, I can see where many MSE people are coming from. If people get help with windows problems, then they don't want to switch to Linux. This is not an absurd concept, it makes sense. However, it's not so cut and dry. Getting your windows problems solved can also be as effective not getting them solved because:
1)If MS's sworn enemies help you more then MS fanboys ever did, what does that tell you? This builds confidence in MSE and makes people more open to the truth.
2)If MS's sworn enemies know a helluva lot more then MS fanboys do(they solved a problem for you), then what they say about Linux has more integrity.
3)People listing some totally absurd and f0cked up wind0ze problems help to point out just how horrible windows can be.
4)Some of the problems that are so shitty that they cannot be solved, that also helps to point out why windows sucks.
5)People asking for help are not abusing MSE. They are giving examples of why windows sucks(even if they don't think they are) and begging for help in "coping with windows".
It's time to wake up and realize that there is good to come out of people asking for help with windows.

The only person that didn't give this person any help was mr Windows himself. I don't get your point. I referred him to a site that will probably get him much help. That is help in itself.
steven1621:
ok, much thanks to those that refered advice. i solved my problem and everything is dandy.
also,
i have been a windows user for many years now. i am well used to the problems that come along with it. there is nothing that i would love more than to rid myself of this machine. i just got to find something better.
