anybody got a copy of windows 1.0 laying around somewhere? im trying to get my old ass laptop up and running correctly but the only thing that will work on it is win1.0 post if you have a copy adn i will gladly pay for copies of the prog.

If this laptop can run Windows 1.0, it can run DR GEM.  Many consider GEM to be far superior to windows 1.0 (it has color, for one thing).  DR-GEM was released under the GPL by Caldera a few years ago.
 Almost all the applications for GEM have been released free also.  

You can download the original GEM from
http://www.deltasoft.com

That site also has many links where you can find the applications.

You can download some of the newer versions (updated by open source programmers).  Look for FreeGEM and OpenGEM on google.

I've used both windows 1.0 and GEM.  I think you may like GEM.

well its a black and white screen so colour really isnt an issue here.

GEM can handle monochrome displays also.

Try it.  If you don't like it, it costs you nothing.
