hi and welcome...

sorry to pick nits, but actually you don't need acrobat reader to see a pdf. there are a few other pdf viewers available, i have xpdf, gv and ggv installed for example.

Posting in the Mac section of the forums, I don't think you need to worry about PDF compatibility - Preview opens them without any trouble.
