was i hacked or did MS screw me?
Chooco:
this guy i know named Voogru spammed me 800 ICQ messages. i retaliated by making a PHP program which send him over 4000 emails and caused his mail server to crash. i restarted my WinXP computer because the menus were starting to get fudged, say you hit file in mozilla, none of the options can be seen unless you move the mouse over them. i restart the computer and when it came up it said Explorer.exe was missing this dll: SHDOCVW.dll and that i had to reinstall Windows
did Voogru hax me or did Windows fux me? Voogru is quite knowledgable in C, C++, PHP and he is somewhat fairly aquainted with how networking works.

Interesting.... I thought hackers(or crackers) rarely engaged each other, too busy raping stationary, non dynamic/reactive targets like n00bs and websites.
In a h4x0r vs h4x0r fight, someone will miserably lose.
Well if you happen to know this guy on a non RL enemy basis(you met him on the net I mean), it sounds like very exceptional circumstances. Now take out those digital turn tables and lay down the ph@t n00b castrating beats.

It used to be more common (and more fun) around the times of windoze 9x, winnukes, hyperterminal etc...thoze wur the daze!
lazygamer:
Lol ok. Well I think it's pretty gay that Wind0ze will refuse to work correctly after the right type of crash. My brother once DOS(correct term?) his roomate's computer and it crashed. Then it gave the BSOD(always gave it when you booted into windows), and Trenton(my big bro) had to fix it. His roomate was pretty pissed off at him.
Now would Linux recover from crashes much better? I assume it would...

No... the correct term is "DoS" (Denial of Service).
DOS is an operating system.
