+ They are now checking for all programs you have.  I do not have facts straight here, I do however believe it is true. It has been posted on the internet think on some news site.  After each windows update your machine gets tagged. I will update this if I find if it is really true or someone could come around and confirm it here. Nobody should be suprised if it is true actually. Coming from Microsoft a company with bad records in many ways! Antitrust... poor security.. making computing risky  etc..  You probably could fetch up millions  of documents on Microsoft in regards to the issues surrounding them. Just try to make sure to find a true  news site not just "believe them all" (reputable).

I'm refraining from voting until you find the source again.  Could be another jackass that somehow thinks the cache itself qualifies as spyware.  It's not that its "hidden" that's the problem (that can be bypassed easily enough), rather it's what goes in it.  Decline further comment.

Seeing as how Microsoft was caught faking evidence in court, I wouldn't trust them to tell me the sky was blue.

Microsoft is nothing but a corporation of liars, con artists and thieves.

Its hardly illegal spyware when the governments endorse it by running their bullshit.

The FBI has a backdoor in Windows since 1998, and Windows Media Player has been spyware infested since version 7.

There's also this thing about the Alexa toolbar pre-built into Internet Explorer 6.

Spyware is a piece of code that tracks your activities and sends them back to the creator so that the info can be used for malicious purposes. Just because a software tracks something doesnt mean it is spyware.

Examples
Realplayer has list of all recently viewed files
Firefox keeps browser history and allows cookies
Adobe PDF reader has a list of recently opened files

just because you hate something doesnt mean that you post hearsay information which you dont really have a clue about

Of course, but the utterly rediculous post by GeoTube reminds me of this one.

These kind of claims make the real and valid claims look like fiction, while they aren't.
