How do I setup a multi boot system?

What up all?

I've got this PC here, a POS HP Pavilion 750n I put in a 2nd 60Gb HD that used to be in my FW case when I got a 250Gb to replace it, what I want to do is install XP BeOS Max and some idiot proof newb linux, I was thinking Mandrake, it this machine. One thing I need tho is at least in linux is a way to read and write to a FW or USB HD formated in HFS+. I know I can do this in win with MacDrive, but when I tried to do what the manuals in Knoppix say to read the drive, even when internal, I can't read anything, only mount the drive.

If there's a way to connect it in BeOS that an added plus.

If you're going to install XP, then you should do that first. Then, you can install Mandrake, which should have HFS support via a kernel module, unlike Knoppix; if not, you can always install hfsutils. Mandrake will give you the option to install GRUB, which will make both XP and Mandrake available.

At last, if you wish, you may install BeOS, which will install its own bootloader, which is not as fancy as the Mandrake one, but should take care of XP, Mandrake and BeOS. BeOS should support HFS with no problem, as it was originally designed for PPC.

I don't want to sound braindead, but I've done this kind of crap before, so make sure you've done a cd /mnt; mkdir and open that after you've mounted the drive to it (/dev/hda2 or whatever it may be).
