Why after clearing the history, cookies, temp files, and all do websites stay in the search bar?  For example when you I type www.w , a website pops up?  Why does it do that and how do you clear it without reformating your computer?  Yes... I am a noob. :fu: :fu:

What operating system are you running?

Linux, Mac OS X, Windows 98, Windows XP...?

Umm.... this is a browser problem, not an OS problem. Given those are one and the same in every Microsoft OS ever seen, we can rule out his using Linux.

Solution: Use Firefox. It'll actually get rid of stuff when you want it to, and if you see the need to get rid of stuff yourself, it doesn't use registry hacks to hide its logs and cache and stuff from you.

Is there any other way to clear it other than downloading firefox, this is my parents computer (its Windows XP) and i dont want to download stuff they dont want on it.  If there is a way to clear it, can you plz list the steps needed to do so.
