Sounds like spyware. Given the parameters of this situation, I suggest that you get the MS antispy beta and run that on it and have it clean it up.

No, and I'm going to call you on this one. Sounds like URL completion, which means the MRU needs to be manually expunged for that to be disabled (I have yet to find a way to keep IE from doing this crap, you think I have Firefox on the XP box for shits & giggles?) I'm not one to advocate screwing with the registry unless you know what you're doing, try regedit.com for details (and a huge disclaimer) on this one.

--- Quote from: Tastycakes ---Is there any other way to clear it other than downloading firefox, this is my parents computer (its Windows XP) and i dont want to download stuff they dont want on it. If there is a way to clear it, can you plz list the steps needed to do so.

Try Spybot and remember to use the immunize option ;)
solemnwarning:
Did u ask them if they wanted linux since windows is a pile of shit
Aloone_Jonez:
Because switching to Linux is easier said than done, while switching from IE to FireFox is easy peasy. If we'd suggested Linux and he had a bad experiance with it (as I had) he could be put off opensource for software for good and go back to Windows and use Microsoft Internet Explorer.
However,
Tastycakes, try Linux, I would recomend Knoppix as you can try out Linux without installing a completely new operating system.
