It qualifies as windows support because your question is windows-specific, ie: the same question would have a different answer on any other OS.

Can you compare asking for codecs really the same as asking for an IE or Office alternative?

umm..yes...because I'm trying to get away from using RealShittyPlayer and Microsoft MPEG-4 codecs to play my stuff.
Man...you guys are waaay too obsessed.
