oh I thought the ibook was 11 years old.

11 years old...wow when I was 11 I didn't even know what a forum was.

When I was 11, I was formatting the 40MB hard drive of our Packard Bell 386, reinstalling DOS and tweaking my config.sys/autoexec.bat files to try and get enough conventional memory to play Joe Montana Football with sound.

Welcome to the forums, Simon.

I've had many problems with Windows that really couldn't have been caused by me. Things breaking when using word, BSOD'd when trying to web browse.

Computers blue screening when web browsing is almost allways caused by Bad memory, or a bad video card. I've seen it several times. Did you bother to read what the blue screen said? It will usually will reference a dll/sys file, which will tell you exactly what peice of hardware is causing your computer to take a dump. If your computer restarts automatically causing you to not be able to read the blue-screen, you can adjust your settings to prevent those automatic reboots.

I remember being driven insane by the Blaster worm.

Besides being driven insane, I hope I taught you that you need to install security updates. ;)

But I'm a mac user... These things update automatically...

 :fu: Microsoft
I'm often asked why I hate Microsoft - "What did they ever do to you?". Well, I'll tell you. They made dodgy programs and standards which have wasted hundreds of hours of my time involving lost work in crashes and stupidity.
