Been going on for years...
When Apple Software started up, there was another company called "Apple Corps" (The Beetles record company). In order to use their name, Apple Software made a deal so that they will never use sound or music in any of their products. That was blown away with System 7.0, which used sound effects and the first MIDI music instruments.
And look what they've got now!
iTunes,
iPod, its gone crazy!
