A small history lesson

This year it has gone 100 years since the union between Sweden and Norway was abolished. A union which Sweden forced upon the norwegians. The background story to that was that Sweden and Russia had fought a brutal war in 1808-09 in which Sweden had lost control over Finland. So instead of getting Finland back us swedes brutalized Norway who uptil 1814 had been a danish territory. We made Norway go into a union with us in 1814 on we went.

In 1905 the norwegian parliament declared the end of the union. This was not seen with "good eyes" in Sweden. They were even ready to go to war for this! But a separate meeting between spies and delegates in September 1905 put an end to any warlike tendencies. As far as I know, both Germany and US were on Sweden
