I checked a Windows XP Pro SP1 box (mine) and a Windows 98 box. For Microsoft Windows users, you'll notice if you right click the start menu (assuming security policies allow you to do this), you should be able to create a "desktop" toolbar, which should contain the contents of your desktop. Drag this toolbar off the start menu, and then right click the start menu again, and go to toolbars, and for some reason, it's no longer checked and you can create another instance of it. And when you put them back onto the start menu, the toolbar menu will display "Desktop" twice, or more, depending on how many instances of it you created, and this also applies to the other toolbars as well. But there's another issue with the Desktop toolbar. Why is there a Microsoft Internet Explorer icon on it, when I have disabled from showing on my desktop. I thought the desktop toolbar copied the contents of my desktop, yet the MSIE icon is showing on it. These bugs have existed for some time now, and nothing as been done about them.
Note: Don't create too many toolbars in XP unless you want Explorer to crash.
