MSN 7.0 is the new version of MSN instant messenger. As always, alot of new features are added. And as always, people may not like these new features.
I use MSN 6.2 after I realized that MSN 7.0 was pure crap from A to Z. friends of mine has also realized this. While I installed beta version of 7.0, I could install 6.2 after I found out that it was crap. People cannot nudge or send me winks (thank god for that), as they are new features of MSN 7.0. I just spoke with a friend, who is not happy with MSN 7.0. His little sister installed it so he had no choice. I gave him a link to Microsoft's download site for MSN 6.2.
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=1b5bfaee-4bfa-42bf-a42e-417d748cefa1That link to be exact. He first uninstalled MSN 7.0 to get rid of the files, then he installed MSN 6.2. Now comes the weird part. I, with my 6.2, can log on and do everything as usual. But when he installed 6.2 and tried to log on, he got a message that he HAD to upgrade to the new version. You have two choices on that message "Yes" and you download the new version, or "No" and you just log off and are not permitted to log on until you download the new version - either way you are screwed.
Now how come that I with my 6.2 can log on as usual, and my friend with 6.2 cannot log on? This puzzles me, is it because he used to have 7.0 on his machine. But so did I, only I had it long before they released it as official. Do they check that if you have prevously installed MSN 7.0, and will therefor not allow you to use any old version? It seems like it, or it could just be a bug.
I did today get a message if I wanted to upgrade, but I on the other hand could press "No" and continue to log in. Explain that.
