The design of I'll Host It still looks like not much work has put into it.
A serious look at your lay-out can really help!
Simplicity is the goal. I don't want to put 100s of 2x2 pixel graphics on there and slow everything down. People can still easily get to the file hosting service, like always... I want that to be really easy. And all of our other services are easily accessible, with low page transition times. I wasn't going for complicated.
that site is dam-ass fast yo.
but- what type of speed can I download off of it? Can it max out my connection? Is there a file I can download off of it and test?
Mr X
Your download speed really is affected by more than just the server and its network, it is also affected by your latency, the route your isp gives you to the server, and more.
Now, honestly to get the best performance a download accelerator always does the trick. It downloads from the server multiple times, using the bandwidth as effeciently as possible.
But, now that I've said that,
http://illhostit.com/hdr.shI have a 6mbps in my home, and I typically download a file at 350kb/s without an accelerator. However, I can download 2 files at 350kb/s each. So I use an accelerator and get about 760kb/s.
