I wonder what effect Firefox 1.5 (beta released next week) and 2.0 will have on ye all.

a poem by my computer, Macintosh Vigilante
Macintosh amends a damned around the requested typewriter. Macintosh urges a scarce design. Macintosh postulates an autobiography. Macintosh tolls the solo variant. Why does a winter audience delay macintosh? The maker tosses macintosh. Beneath female suffers a double scum. How will a rat cube the heavier cricket? Macintosh calls a method. Can macintosh nest opposite the headache? Macintosh ties the wrong fairy. When can macintosh stem the land gang? Female aborts underneath macintosh. Inside macintosh waffles female. Next to macintosh worries a well.

I installed Firefox on my parents PC. Never got any complaints whatsoever.

Older people are tend to stick to what they're used to or what they use at work.

I made a simple rule at my house seeing as I have to fix the computers if something goes wrong, actually the rules extends to many of my family's computers who are owned by people who depend on me. It is this: I will not support Internet Explorer. In fact I make it very difficult for them to run Internet Explorer, I even change the shortcuts so that it runs Firefox. However most of them prefer Firefox now anyway, that I have forced it on them. I think this is reasonable, as I am the poor fucker who has to rid spyware and shit off there computers.

Yeah, force it on them, that's a good idea. ;)

According to the roadmap, Firefox 1.5 final is scheduled for release in early November.

Just to spite Skyman and Aloone_Jonez, I downloaded DeerPark Alpha2.

Now using DPA2, and it isn't much different.  The layout of the preferences is more Safari-ish.  But general functionality is about the same.  Except faster.  I don't know how it managed that, but it is faster.  Maybe it's just because network traffic has slowed down, and I'm getting like 500+kbps.

For anyone who's counting, my new /usr/local/firefox is only 21.5MB, which is less than half of /usr/lib/firefox-1.0.6.  Still got all the themes and plugins.  Need to update my search plugins, tho.
