Netscape to Ship on New HP Computers
Aloone_Jonez:
All I have to ask is why Netscape? Why not a more modern browser like Opera or even Mozilla Firefox? Netscape has past its best we should all acept it.

They probably had a deal with AOL.
Also they'd need to get permission off the Opera developers to distribute their software.
Then again, they probably needed permission off AOL, meh.
themacuser:
This new netscape uses the firefox rendering engine, and the IE one. This is sort-of a bad thing because people can just switch to IE if it doesn't work, making web designers not care that it doesn't work on firefox.
Narf Man:
A hybrid? That's never a good idea.
Refalm:
Netscape uses IE if you mark a website as "trusted".
Basically, it's perfect for the people who go to websites they do not think is secure, but use Internet Explorer for the websites that that do not infest your PC with spyware.
This is of course bad behaviour, because it's less annoying not to switch between browsers all the time.
And, Firefox is just as good, even better, although I like Opera better.
