I installed SuSE 9.1 personal edition once and LOVED it.

Then I discovered that it didn't have gcc so I couldn't compile isdn4k-utils to get on the net...
What a disaster, "SuSE sucks", back to Slackware.

The free version has GCC, so there's no reason you shouldn't have been able to get it.

The personal edition of at least 9.1 did _not_ have gcc on the CD.

i thought suse 10.0 was pretty good. It was the only distro i could get that would support my graphics right from install and has a very good 64bit version.

1. at piratePenguin i not sure but i think that if you go to YaST/software managment and do a search for gcc it will have it but you need to install it from the CD.
2. at master of reality yes i have a amd 64 and the was another reason to upgrade was the 64bit usage and it suported my card out of the box at 9.1

still usuing it and loving it
