Not when it first came out.  For a short time, it was actually called "Duke Nukem," but they quickly changed it to "Duke Nukum" due to some potential trademark infringment with a character from the TV show "Captain Planet."  Later they found out that there was no trademark on that, and they changed it back for the second game.
