I have decided to screw it all and switch to Ubuntu. I will still have Xp in VMWare to play games, but I will allways be using Ubuntu and a main OS now.

If you mean playing directx games in Vmware then you're on thin ice. VMware only supports very simple directx games with and the performance is bad. Try Wine/Cedega instead or keep a native Windows installation. The latter is the best if you wan't the best experience out of your games.

I played Half - Life 1 and it was great. I may install windows for gamesa, but i will have to re-install grub :(.

You should do that anyway - LILO is pretty much the bane of modern civilisation. ;)

BootX is great, as is yaboot.

Cedega is good for playing older games, but it doesn't do too well with the newest games. For example, Guild Wars is really fucked when you try to play it on cedega, and other games like Call of Duty 2 simply won't install.
-
Do you have the newest LEGAL version of cedega?
-
Yeah. I subscribed, than cancelled it cause i haveno money in bank. I can still download the files.

uuhhhh ... no ... it's version 5.0.2 ... but it is "legal" ... why do you ask ... does the newest version work with Guild Wars and Call of Duty 2 ?
P.S. Legal = anything as long as you don't get caught.

Tex, Check this (http://www.transgaming.com/newssearch.php?newskeys=Guild+Wars&search=Search) for Guild Wars, and there is nothing on transgaming's site about Call of Duty 2

cool ... thanks :D ... maybe I should check their site more often

:tux: At last check though, it is possible to run Half-Life using Wine on Ubunutu ( I am on the Sexy Kubuntu as I post) :tux:
