Title: EU may stop Windows Vista
Post by: cahult on 29 March 2006, 14:13
According to Wall Street Journal, which article I cannot read because I need to get a subscription to do that, EU warns Microsoft that if some of the new security measures in the OS are still built in when shipped it will not be allowed to be sold within the EU. The new internet search function is also forbidden under EU law, for competitive reasons.

If someone finds a better source please add it here.

Doesn't work.

Here's an article from my favourite radio news channel:

An English artical would be nice. . .

I can't see the EU stopping Vista but I hope they do, however MS will always find a way round it.

I bet they'll ship Windows without all the componants the EU don't want, then auto-install them using Windows update.

Neelie Kroes is a corrupt whore (see "TCR-affaire"), but she did good on taking on Microsoft, which is something my government should consider too.

The Netherlands recently prolonged contracts to let the government use Microsoft software exclusivelly.
