hmm... I installed the fedora rpm with alien and the xpi, have mplayer installed but it has no GUI?

installed the firefox xpi and the fedora rpm, but nothing showing up. I'm still fairly new to Linux. It's a bitch not being able to view streaming RealMedia, WMV's, Quicktime files, etc.

Wait, you're using alien?
Are you on Debian?

Try to find the proper package for your distribution.

Don't forget the codecs from the mplayer home page or greysector below ... as for gui you need gmplayer (http://www.mplayerhq.hu/DOCS/HTML/en/gui.html).

If you are using Fedora ... the best place for mplayer stuff is: (if CVS version fails use normal pre7 one)
