I couldn't help but notice that the site was down the last few days of last month because it ran out of bandwidth ... there seem to be a lot more people coming to the site than usual ... you think it might happen again this month ?
-
I'm surprised you didn't suggest it was a Bill Gates conspiracy to DDoS the site. :D
Myself, I haven't noticed a lot more people coming. Perhaps the spiders were really busy last month? (Since there aren't that many pictures hosted here, I can't imagine that a couple extra members would push the site over the edge.)
-
I almost cried, I was so upset.:p
If we have to take up a collection to buy a couple more MB, let me know.

Actually that thought has crossed my mind ... but I dunno ... why would Gate$ waste his time doing that when he could be devising other insidious plots to take over the galaxy. (He's already taken over earth and the moon ...)

Bandwidth limits?
come on man!
even in my country (hell on the loose) there is no such thing as a Bandwidth limit ...
-
Well your country is cool ... the US is not (maybe it was at one point, but recently everything has turned to shit !)

I just got back from visiting some pretty shitty places overseas, and I am beginning to wonder if maybe (just maybe) things like bandwidth limits and street sweeping machines and DRM and proprietary cola forumulas are the cornerstones of this fabulous society that we have here. Perhaps price-gouging by WalMart and corporate welfare for GM and the McDonaldization of the American farm is a good thing. Maybe these are the kinds of things that allow us to pave our roads and sterilize our bathrooms and browse through a store without being molested by an overachieving salesman.
Meh, probably not.

This site is hosted in Canada.
And while home internet connections almost never have bandwidth limits (except in crappy locations), paid web hosting almost always does.

I have a bandwidth limit :(
30Gb. EDIT: if I go over that I have to pay extra per gigabyte
Every ADSL service provider in my area that I know of has a bandwidth limit.
We should've gotten a bunch of computers to repeatadly visit microsuck.com, downloading the "bandwidth limit exceeded" message, increasing the bandwidth of the service provider :D
If someone made a program to do that, we could (unofficially) do it next time (if it happens again)...
-
Yeah, Western Europe is one of those places where bandwidth limits are rampant. Austrailia is the other big one.
-
Here in New Zealand its pretty bad because we have a monopolistic telecomunications system (which should change some time soon).
30USD for 256kB downstream with a 10gig cap :(
-
any chance it might was
Bulgaria or Makedonia
or maby our Greek "friends"?

I now have 24 Mbps down / 2 Mbps up (usually get 18 Mbps down) for 59 euros a month with free telephone and cheap ratings.

For 9 euro less I have 3mb down and 384kb up, with free line rental.... fuck sake we're still way behind the rest of europe!

I've got no limit to the amount of porn i can download.
-
really ... so you have a limit on anything but pr0n ?

I use Telewest / Blueyonder here in Birmingham England. I asked for an unlimited and they have one. 2Mb downstream...I can't remember what the up was, all for only 15 pounds a month. Also, the UK now has bulldog. It looks great through their package. Unlimited 8MB down for starter pack at like 17 pounds a month. The problem with telewest/blueyonder is they are also a cble TV and phone service provider, which means they are always calling me to switch phone from BT and TV from SKY....
