I had a really weird dream last night. I mean REALLY weird. It was one of those dreams where you wake up and wonder whether you just had a near-death experience. I'm not quite sure what caused it, either. Here it is:
I'm walking in a desert, when suddenly my view switches to third-person isometric (anyone that's played Real-Time Strategies knows what I mean). Suddenly, there's a voiceover, introducing some Colombian special division that wasn't really a police force that was being tasked with stopping coke dealers that pretended to be cops. They got up to this "work farm" that was actually a hacienda, and that's where I entered the picture.
Suddenly, I'm standing on the other side of a razor-wire fence, and the work farm is now a day retreat of some kind. I'm picking up garbage, and one of the employees walks up to me and asks what I'm doing. So I explain, and he asks for my business card, so I give him one. Then I mention that I do PC troubleshooting, and he says that "it kinda sucks that you have to test for a Plan9 certificate before they'll let you work on anything." So we sit down at this spontaneous card table, and he starts singing Soyuz, which is weird, because for some strange reason I get the feeling that we're back in the U.S.
I start singing along, and my buddy that's a big military fanboy pops in, and starts doing the same (he knows the whole thing in real life). Suddenly, the "Colombian" motions us to be quiet, and says "Here's the joke."
He hands me a piece of paper, with the understanding that it's about "America's communist bureaucracy," with one "question" on the page:
1. Please wait here while we __________ your pen. (circle one)
A. bring
B. drop
C. remove
D. all of the above
It takes me a moment before I realise the absurdity of that, then I burst out laughing to wake with a smile on my face.
All of this is paraphrased from a conversation I had with Laukev. Tell me, what does this mean (first one to mention rape and any of my family gets a super-heated meat fork through his eye)?

It would appear to me that you are having issues with the control of state over daily affairs which include the security of future employment. That it's embodied itself in a stye typical to games you commonly play is your minds way of putting a realistic angle on it that you are comfortable with.
And, you probably want to have sex with your mother...according to Freud...

I've had dreams about Star Wars the last two nights. Does that mean anything? I doubt it. Ditto for your situation. :D

I had a dream about a small, indestructible kitten that kept trying to eat me. I mean this little kitty was really indestructible ... I tried twisting its head off, smashing it with various objects, ripping it in half, shooting it, cutting it, running it over, etc. but it would not die and it was after me !!! (sadly, I'm not joking) ... I died with it attached to my throat (and luckily woke up soon afterwards)
I think the answer is C ... please wait here while we remove your pen ... and proceed to execute you by firing squad :D

I wonder why if you die in a dream you wake up. Maybe it's a safety mechanism, no one knows what happens after death, maybe trying to create that in a dream (AFAIK dreams are made up as they go) would cause a crash or summin.

ONe time I had a dream, and within the dream I was sleeping and had a dream, like double dreaming...Weird:rolleyes:

I wonder if the brain can actually crash or lock up. just install XP and try it.

Well, usually when you are dreaming most of the higher thinking and logical centers (prefrontal cortex and others) are shut down or not fully operational (except during "lucid" dreams, where you take full control of the dream close to the time when you are about to wake up ... sometimes). You might notice that things in dreams are often VERY illogical. Yet some centers are still operational (non-auditory temporal lobes) since most people have no trouble reading and writing and speaking in their sleep. Other rather strange things happen to the brain during sleep, but more research needs to be done to find out what it means. It's very interesting if you ask me.

One time, my dads friend was sleep walking, well when he was sleep walking, he picked up the phone, called my dad and talked to him about getting tickets to see a singer(who was incendently dead). My dad was kinda freaked out.

That can happen ... sleep walking often involves very complex behavior, but people almost always don't remember that it ever happened. Did he remember the incident ? (I bet not)

This seems to indicate - to me - that you have been suffering from a form of personal identity crisis, but that you have been taking steps recently to find your true self - to make yourself stand out in the crowd. Tell me, what is your job like? How do your co-workers treat you?
