Stop Microsoft

i run a game server in windows, this server has some modifications which make it a bit unstable so when it crashes, it brings up the illegal operation message which prevents the system from automatically restarting the server. ocne i click "don't send", the automatic server restart kicks in and server boots up again. this is not as mild as just a game server though, when that stupid message pops up, it makes the server stay down, it makes my website stay down and it makes my DNS client thing (dns2go) stop sending so as far as the world is concerned, Chooco was wiped off the map.
if i don't get this message to stop screwing me, i will have to shut down the game server on Windows and focus all on my Linux server. the Linux server is good but it's missing some things such as being able to buy weapons (the game usualy does not allow that), having grapple hooks and having lower pings (the Windows computer is an Athlon).

Half-Life: Counterstrike I presume?
OK, here goes:
Start | Settings | Configurationscreen | System | Advanced | Reporting errors | Do not report errors
And Windows won't bother you again (no wait)
Except for the many bugs of course :D
The standard Ctrl bug wich offer you no choice than rebooting wich Microsoft hasn't fixed since 1995 when the bug first occured.

oh i'm sorry but i total missed out the OS there. it's WinXP Home so i don't have a start >> settings
it's Team Fortress Classic (TFC). you can buy a rocket launcher as a scout! :D :D :D :D
come see it for yourself there bud ;)

hmmmmm..... get Linux, use VMware.
-
doesn't VMware cost like 200 bucks? i tried Wine before, it doesn't work.
-
wine doesn't work too well with out configureing it till your eyes bled, winex however works just great on the other hand
-
dude you can NOT wine a game server it's completely impossible.
-
edit:
don't mind this .... I should read posts better (http://smile.gif)

Why not just get the Linux Server edition from valve? CS has one, Methinks the normal Linux DS for HL has TFC support too.
If there are things that are only supported in the Windoez ds version like script... Then that sucks and you should complain to the makers of it!

Has anybody ever used Transgaming WineX (http://www.transgaming.com) because i am thinking of buying it.
Is it worth
-
No but from what I've heard it's really a good alternative to the Windoze DirectX API.
-
hehe I know how to screw with ms os's. Just randomly move and delete memory in assembly or overuse and abuse pointers and arrays in c++. Have fun (http://smile.gif)
-
yeah but lose a TON of stuff and my server becomes all gay
-can't buy extra guns
-don't get grapple hooks
-can't move entities
-can't make lasershows
-don't get a sound response when i say "shit" or "ass" or "doh"
-doesn't have a repeat message
-can't vote for matrix jumping
-doesn't say "headshot","multikill", "ultrakill", "killing spree", "monster kill" when we kill people

never figured out why they didn't port half-life itself over to linux. the codebase they started with was portable enough
